Abstract: In this paper the notion of
morphological granulometrical deconstruction and the respective
algorithms developed to simulate images are presented. They are mainly
based on geometrical constraints and appeal to mathematical morphology,
geostatistical and genetic algorithms tools. The model is tested with a
set constituted by images of 13 different portuguese granites and
validated by a high matching degree of the morphological granulometries
(in measure and in number) and of the variograms computed on the
experimental and simulated images.
